Damp, Mould & Condensation Policy Consultation from EPIC

At EPIC we know how important it is for tenants to live in homes free from damp and mould.  The tragedy of Awaab Ishak in 2020 clearly bought into focus the relationship between living in homes with damp and mould and the health and wellbeing of tenants.

EPIC’s Damp, Mould & Condensation Policy (previously referred to as Damp & Mould Policy) explains our approach to tackling damp, mould and condensation in tenants’ homes.  Our approach is supported by ensuring that every tenant has a clear understanding of the ways in which they and EPIC tackle reporting, and treatment, of damp, mould and condensation.

The updated policy includes reference to Awaab’s Law (due to come into force from 27 October 2025), provides clearer information by updating the language used, includes updated timescales and also highlights the proactive measures we take. We do however recognise that each set of circumstances can be different and that will be taken into account. The updated policy also includes updated references to other policies.
